The all-new 2018 Volvo XC60 SUV has been launched in India today. The new car replaces the original XC60 which was the largest selling Volvo, with nearly a million units sold globally as well as in India. In fact, it makes up for almost a third of Volvo’s total sales here. The new XC60 offers a refined driving experience with its enhanced technology, sublime comfort and robust preventive and protective safety features.

The new SUV features Volvo’s signature Thor’s Hammer and tail lights. The interior is a composition of Scandinavian luxury and has been appointed with rich use of materials.
Trimmed in Nappa leather and fine wood, the dashboard boasts of a 9-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen.
New 2018 Volvo XC60 Safety
The new SUV features Volvo’s IntelliSafe technologies which help protect not only the people inside the car but also consider people on the outside. It helps you to detect pedestrians and cyclists and when you drive at speeds up to 50 km/h, the City Safety collision avoidance technology looks ahead of you and brakes automatically if you are about to run into a vehicle in front.
The new XC60 features Steer Assist which been added to the City Safety system. Another system called the Oncoming Lane Mitigation uses steer assist to help mitigate head-on collisions, while Volvo’s Blind Spot Indication System (BLIS) now uses Steer Assist functionality to reduce the risk of lane-changing collisions. These system enabled by radar helps the driver arrive refreshed.

The heart of the new XC60 is a robust diesel engine that features Volvo’s Power Pulse Technology. This feature spools up the turbo instantly thereby negating any turbo-lag from a stop-go situation. Power Pulse provides a constant boost to the acceleration. This sub-2.0-litre twin-turbo engine delivers 235 hp and 480 Nm torque coupled with an 8-Speed gearbox with paddle shifts. This new generation powertrains are clean and comply with stringent European and Indian emission norms. Five types of drive modes – Eco, Comfort, Dynamic, Off-Road and Individual provides the driver with a varied choice of settings.
