All of you who were looking for a ‘proper German’ sedan under Rs. 10 lakhs now have a big reason to smile. The reason- Volkswagen India has officially announced their latest and one of the most anticipated car, Vento’s price and launch date.
Here are some of the details we would like to share with you for the time being. A roadtest is coming soon!
The car goes on sale on September 6th this year. It will be available in two variants, Trendline and Highline (no Comfortline available).
The car is available with 2 engine options, the first is a 1.6L Petrol unit which produces a max power of 105PS @ 5250 rpm and a Torque of 153NM @ 3800 rpm. A 5-speed manual tranny is available but those who prefer to get rid of the hassles of gearshifting can opt for the 6-speed auto box. The base petrol Vento(Trendline MT) costs Rs.6.99lakhs ex-showroom Delhi. Expect to spend around 8.23 lakhs for the Highline MT. And for the Auto box equipped Highline variant, 9.25Lakhs is all you will have to spend.
If you belong to the group of mortals who like to have diesel powered cars, then you won’t be disappointed to know that even this beautiful German sedan could be yours for just 7.99 Lakhs(Trendline Diesel MT). The diesel unit shares a lot of figures with its petrol cousin. An identical displacement, 1.6L producing an identical 105 PS. The similarity ends here. The max power is produced at a lower rpm, that is @4400 rpm, while the max torque is a healthy 250NM @1500-2500 rpm. The car won’t get an auto box though. The Highline variant will cost 9.23Lakh.
