Volkswagen Sound Edition Virtus and Taigun Are Here!

German carmaker Volkswagen has launched the limited time Sound Edition of its Taigun SUV and Virtus sedan. As its name suggests, this new edition does not come with any sort of mechanical updates as it focuses on the musical aspect of both cars.

This new addition to its range comes just a few weeks after the brand launched the Trail Edition for the Taigun. Let us take a closer look at what this music-centric Edition gets you.

VW Sound Edition: Add-ons & Colours

The Sound Edition of the higher-spec Dynamic Line variants for the Virtus and Taigun now includes a subwoofer and amplifier previously exclusive to the top-spec GT models. Beyond these additions, both vehicles receive an enhanced audio system, along with the subwoofer and amplifier, enhancing the musical aspect of the driving experience.

Distinctive badges, such as the ‘Sound’ badge on the B-pillar and ‘Sound’ spelled out on equalizer decals on the C-pillar make the Sound Edition stand out. Inside, the ‘Sound’ badge extends to the tweeters on the A-Pillar, highlighting the emphasis on the audio enhancements.

The Sound Edition offers four primary colour options—Lava Blue, Carbon Steel Grey, Wild Cherry Red, and Rising Blue. Additionally, it’s available in a dual-tone paint scheme featuring an all-white roofs and ORVM covers. Aside from these changes, the Sound Edition aligns with the features of the Topline trim.

VW Sound Edition: Features

Speaking of the Topline variant, it now incorporates updates such as an electrically adjustable passenger seat, puddle lamps, etc. Additionally, it also gets footwell lighting, which are also present in this newly introduced Edition. The rest of the Topline variant’s features have been carried on, including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, six airbags, auto-dimming IRVM, and rain-sensing wipers.

Price & Availability

In terms of pricing, the new Edition is positioned Rs 30,000 higher than the Topline trim. The Taigun Sound Edition is priced at Rs 16.33 lakh for the MT and Rs 17.90 lakh for the AT. While the Virtus Sound Edition comes at Rs 15.52 lakh for the MT and Rs 16.77 lakh for the AT.

Both editions are exclusively available with the 1-litre TSI engine, generating 115PS and 178NM. This could be the first time that any carmaker has brought out a music-specific special edition for its car.
