Upcoming Tata Nexon XZ Variant Features Leaked Ahead Of Launch

Tata Motors is said to be working on a new variant of it’s popular compact SUV, the Nexon. To be christened as the Nexon XZ variant, the model is expected to hit showroom floors soon. Now, details of this upcoming variant of the Tata Nexon have surfaced on the web.

To be positioned below the XZ+ variant and above the XT variant, the Nexon XZ variant will miss out on a few features as compared to the XZ+ variant but will have more features than the XT variant. A few feature highlights of the Tata Nexon XZ variant include projector headlamps, LED tail lights, electrically foldable ORVM’s. As compared to the top-end XZ+ variant, the model misses out on LED DRLs, alloy wheels, rear defogger as well as front and rear fog lamps.

Inside, the XZ variant of the Tata Nexon receives a 6.5 inch touchscreen infotainment system, Harman sourced eight speaker music system, Android Auto, climate control, rear vents, cooled glove box, height adjustable driver seat and an arm rest at the rear. The Nexon is currently offered with safety features such as ABS, EBD and dual airbags as standard across all variants.

Engine specifications will remain unchanged and hence the upcoming Tata Nexon XZ variant can be had with a 1.2-litre, three cylinder petrol engine or a 1.5-litre, four cylinder diesel engine. The former is capable of producing 108 hp and 170 Nm of torque while the latter produces 108 hp and 260 Nm of torque. Transmission duties are taken care of by a six speed manual transmission. The AMT variant of the Nexon was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, hinting that a launch might take place in the near future.
