Upcoming BMW G 310 RR Bookings Open

A few years back, BMW partnered with TVS to jointly develop a 310 cc bike platform which resulted in the birth of the BMW G 310 R street bike and the G 310 GS adventure bike. Now, BMW is all set to launch its third bike which will be closely based on the Apache RR 310. The BMW G310 RR will be launched on the 15th of July and bookings are open for a token amount of ₹4000. Let’s take a look at what we can expect from it:

What to expect

BMW’s newest street bike has been christened the G 310 RR for a reason. The G alphabet is used for BMW’s single-cylinder models such as the G 310 R. The 310 number refers to its displacement just like the TVS Apache RR310. Lastly, the RR suffix is used by BMW for its fully-faired sports bikes such as the S 1000 RR. The BMW G 310 RR is set to become the most affordable RR bike in BMW’s lineup. The teaser shows the bike’s name along with the word ‘Race’. The paint scheme used is the typical combination of white, red, and blue which we’ve come to see on other BMW bikes.

Even the graphics used are similar to other BMW fully faired bikes. The bike features a fork top indicating that it could be adjustable just like the TVS Apache RR310. Though the overall shape is expected to be similar to the Apache RR310, there will be some subtle differences. The teasers reveal that the headlights and front fairing have been tweaked. Compared to the petal-type discs used in the Apache, BMW will use conventional rotors. The bike could borrow the instrument cluster from the Apache as well. For reference, the 5.5-inch TFT screen offers a plethora of features, customization options, and more. It comes loaded with a Digi locker that can hold your digital copies of your documents like bike papers, RC cards, driver’s licenses, and the likes.

Apart from the new Digi Locker, it also gets a rev limiter indicator, along with a day trip meter and overspeeding indicator. The engine is expected to be the familiar BS6 DOHC, liquid-cooled engine with additional oil-cooling that continues to crank out 34 PS and 27 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
