Hyundai India launched the third generation Elantra back in 2004. The model, which received a low response, was soon discontinued. The Indian arm of the Korean manufacturer later launched the fifth generation fluidic Elantra in 2012. Last year, the same model received a facelift and now, its successor, the 2017 Elantra is on its way to Indian shores.

The Elantra, known as the Avante in South Korea, was unveiled in September last year at Hyundai’s Global R&D Center in Namyang where it has been engineered and designed. With a slew of updates coming on the 2017 Hyundai Elantra, we list five things that you should know regarding this upcoming D-segment sedan:

On the exterior, the 2017 Elantra receives a hexagonal grille that now stretches further down, HID bending lights in the projector headlamp setup, larger air dams and vertically positioned LED DRLs upfront. On either side, the model comes equipped with 17 inch alloy wheels, LED door handle lights, and mirror integrated LED turn indicators. The posterior will feature LED tail lamps.
