Going back to the days of the 2016 Auto Expo, our team put in exhaustive efforts to keep you folks updated about the latest action and news from the event. The expo was huge and housed numerous automakers’ pavilion and their automobiles. Out of the lot, the Mercedes-Benz pavilion was one of our favourites, with a super arsenal set up on the decks and visitors were in for a treat. While the super car drama was going on at full throttle (with the AMG GT) there was the mean and mighty G 500 4×4² in acid green colour positioned at the edge of the pavilion as if it was guarding it.
After the G 500 4×4²’s appearance at the 2016 Auto Expo, the SUV has been seen in Mumbai and was spotted at a local Mercedes Benz dealership. For now reports suggest that the SUV is in Mumbai only for showcasing purposes, as it is in LHD configuration. However, the very first G 500 4×4² of India has already been ordered and will arrive in Mumbai shortly. On arrival, it will be the first G 500 4×4² in the world with a right hand drive configuration, apart from being heavily customized.

The green monster G 500 4×4² is powered by a 4.0 litre V8 biturbo engine that can produce 422 hp and 610Nm of twist. The SUV features a permanent all-wheel drive layout, an off-road reduction in the transfer case, three lockable differentials, 450 mm of ground clearance, along with portal axles. All of that ensure that the G 500 4×4² can swim through a meter of standing water. Inside, the G 500 4×4² features the designo Exclusive package inside with the seat bolsters, head restraints, dashboard, centre console and armrests in the doors are styled in black designo leather with white contrasting topstitching.
