Tata Kite interior spied

An interior picture of Tata Motors’ upcoming Kite (Glade) has been snapped and reveals the dashboard of the hatchback. The Tata Kite has been undergoing road tests for a while now, and to see more exterior spy shots of this car, click here. The car spied here, gets an all-black dashboard that gets rectangular aircon vents and reportedly, similar control knobs found in the Indica. The infotainment system found in this car gets a large display, hinting at a possibility that it could likely be a touch-enabled Harman-Kardon rig. If true, this audio system will support AUX-in, USB, SD card and Bluetooth connectivity. The Harman system is also found in the new Bolt and Zest and so is the 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel.

Update: Motoroids reader Nishant Chichkar has sent us the latest spy images of the upcoming Tata Kite hatchback. Find them in the gallery (top images are the latest) below.

The exterior design of the Tata Kite follows the new Tata Design philosophy that can be seen on the Bolt and Zest. Up front, the Tata Kite gets a ‘smiling’ front end and the grille gets a honeycomb pattern. The air dam on the front bumper gets a horizontal bar running across it and is flanked by the foglights. At the back there’s a roof-mounted spoiler, redesigned bumpers that get an integrated foglight. Under the bonnet of the upcoming Tata Kite, is a new 1.05-litre, 3-pot diesel and a 1.2-litre petrol engine. The new hatchback is to be offered with a manual and an AMT gearbox. Tata Motors is likely to launch the Kite in the later part of 2015.

  • James says:

if tata introduces kite with 1000cc diesel engine with AMT and price it competitively then it is for sure that it will be the largest selling hatchback in the country. Tata also should improve the customer support and refrain from selling this model to taxi segment , if not could could later build a taxi image to the kite model. Only indica and indigo should be sold in taxi market. Also the diesel engine should have three cylinder and should not sound like autorickshaw like celerio. Good luck Tata !

  • […] for the alloy wheels. The front fascia of this compact saloon will likely be similar to that of its Kite (Glade) hatchback sibling, though the side and rear profile look noticeably […]

  • Satish says:

Just learnt Maruti made a disastrous product named Celerio Diesel with very crude and underpowered 0.8 liter engine. Tata should not go that way. The Kite must have some some highway capability.

  • Satish says:

Hyundai’s 1.1 litre 70ps 3 cylinder diesel went flop. I dont think Tata’s 1 litre to put more power/torque than former. Also Hyundais are miles ahead in refinement. What can we expect from this narrow power band mill? Are they again looking for commercial segment?
