Hero MotoCorp has been working on refreshing its highest selling product, the Splendor, as the world largest two-wheeler manufacturer plans to introduce an completely overhauled version of this 100cc commuter. The most important update will be the new motor that is likely to be completely designed by Hero MotoCorp’s in-house engineers. While there is no word about the output numbers, we expect to see a slight bump up in the figures there. For all we know, there might be a minor bump in the displacement too and we may see a 110cc variant of the motorcycle that would compete with the likes of newly introduced Honda Livo and TVS Start City Plus to name a few rivals. A unit of this upcoming, refreshed  motorcycle was recently snapped, giving us a brief glance of what to expect in the coming days.

From what we could make out from these new spy images, the front of the new 2016 Hero Splendor Pro appears to be a slightly reworked version of the Splendor iSmart. The underpinnings, five-spoke alloy wheels, conventional front and semi-covered suspension, clear turn indicators, handlebar and handlebar grips have been carried forward from current generation Hero motorcycles but rest of the body including the fuel tank and the side and rear panel has gone under the scalpel. Sitting under the fuel tank is the fuel knob that is cocooned inside a plastic cladding. The plastic cladding also appears to have a pinch on chrome, ahead of the fuel knob. The tail-light too has been refreshed for the new model. The exhaust pipe receives a chrome heat-shield for a slightly premium look.

The instrument cluster has received a new design that splits the entire setup in three parts. The extreme left section holds the tell-tale indicators including a side-stand warning. The centre part holds the speedometer and the odometer while the extreme right panel holds the fuel-guage. The motorcycle is likely to be introduced close to the festive season along with more products from Hero, including the new generation Hunk that was spied a few days ago. Prices, alike all Hero MotoCorp motorcycles, are likely to be highly competitive but can this new variant carry forward the Splendor legacy? Let’s hope it does.
