Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Breaks Cover! (Video Walkaround)

Royal Enfield has finally unveiled the all-new Hunter 350. The Hunter 350 is a modern roadster that focuses on agility, accessibility, and ease of riding. The Hunter 350 is based on the J-platform which also underpins the Classic 350 and Meteor 350. This bike is not only aimed at retaining the current Royal Enfield owners but also bringing in new customers which go for other brands. Set to launch on the 7th of August, let’s take a look at the technical specifications and other details of the Hunter 350:

Design

The Hunter 350 gets a modern yet retro design with minimalism being the key focus. It gets a round headlamp in the front which uses halogen bulbs instead of LED units or even LED DRLs. Royal Enfield says that the halogen bulbs are suited more to rains and also that having a traditional setup helps in keeping in touch with the brand’s heritage by keeping it simple. The large fuel tank gets a subtle indent on the sides to accommodate the rider’s legs lending to a comfortable riding position. Every body panel on the Hunter 350 is new when compared to its siblings except the 350cc engine. The Hunter 350 makes generous use of plastic parts such as the mudguard and rear grab handle to keep the weight in check. The upswept exhaust pipe is short and stubby to maintain a good center of gravity. The taillights and rear turn indicators are LED units. The seat is a single-piece unit and has been designed with optimal comfort in mind.

Features

The Hunter 350 gets features like LED taillights and turn indicators, an analogue speedometer with an LCD display which shows information such as odometer, gear position indicator, service indicator, low-fuel trip meter, and time display, and eco indicator. It also gets an integrated USB port below the switch console. Royal Enfield is offering a Tripper Navigation pod as an accessory as well.

Powertrain

The Hunter 350 uses the familiar single cylinder oil-cooled 349cc motor that produces 20.2 bhp @6100 rpms and 27 nm of torque @4000 rpms. It comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Royal Enfield has tweaked the ignition timing and fueling in the Hunter 350 to make it feel more lively and responsive when compared to other Royal Enfield bikes with the same engine. The Hunter 350 is 0.2 seconds quicker to 100 km/h from a standstill when compared to the classic 350.

Mechanicals

The Hunter 350 gets a 1370mm wheelbase which is shorter when compared to it’s siblings. It’s 800mm seat height is suited for short riders as well. It gets a 13-liter fuel tank which is the same size as the Meteor 350 and Classic 350. The motorcycle tips the scale at 181 kg which is the lightest of all Royal Enfields. It gets 41mm front forks with 130mm wheel travel. The rear gets twin tube emulsion shock absorbers with 6-step adjustable preload and 102mm of wheel travel. The 17-inch alloy wheels are wrapped in tubeless tires which are 110/70-17 in the front and 140/70-17 in the rear. Braking duties are taken care of by twin pot calipers with 300mm discs in the front and 270mm discs in the rear. It gets dual-channel ABS on the higher variant. It has a ground clearance of 150.5 mm.

Accessories, Colors and Variants

Royal Enfield is offering as many as 23 accessories from the Genuine Motorcycle Accessories division. One can also choose between the Urban and Suburban theme packs to suit their taste. The lower Retro variant is available in two colors black and white whereas the Metro variant gets six colors including red, blue, white, silver, grey, and black. All colors come with unique graphics. The Hunter 350 will be available in 2 variants, namely, Retro and Metro. Some of the bits in the Retro variant include wired spoke alloy wheels, rear drum brakes, single-channel ABS, halogen bulbs, and thinner tires.
