Royal Enfield Himalayan recalled over faulty clutch assembly and rocker shaft

One of the most talked about motorcycles this year seems to have hit a minor road bump. Royal Enfield has silently recalled its latest product, the Himalayan, over faulty rocker shaft and clutch assembly. While there has been no official announcement from Royal Enfield, reports suggets that dealerships have already started contacting the owners and are replacing the faulty parts free of cost. We really don’t know the exact number of motorcycles affected but it is expected that all the motorcycle sold till date may suffer from this problem.

Royal Enfield launched its much awaited adventure tourer, the Himalayan, at attractive price tag of INR 155,545 (Ex-showroom) in Maharashtra and Rs. 178,872 (on-road) in Mumbai. This purpose-built motorcycle for adventure and touring gets an all new 411cc single-cylinder air-cooled SOHC engine that delivers a maximum power of 24.5 bhp @ 6500 rpm and peak torque of 32 Nm @4000-4500 rpm. The engine is claimed to be a low maintenance unit and can go 10,000 kilometers between oil changes. Royal Enfield Himalayan is available in two signature colour options—Granite and Snow.
