Roadster, Myntra’s outdoor lifestyle brand, has launched an all-new licensed Roadster MotoGP collection and in doing so, becomes the first Indian brand to enter into an exclusive collaboration with MotoGP. The special-edition Roadster MotoGP collection includes a range of jackets, denims and t-shirts.

The abrasion-resistant jackets incorporate air vents and accordion panels, along with a detachable thermal lining for making it a versatile fit for all weather conditions. Easy access pockets are also built into the lining for quick storage of any riding gear. The styling also provides for adjustable straps – making the jackets a good fit for any rider.

The denim riding pants are crafted in hand-discharged indigo fabric, while the cotton t-shirts and shirts are specifically designed to absorb moisture to enhance rider comfort.  Dyed with luminous paint, which absorbs ambient light and glows in the dark, the shirts showcase different prints and multiple styles. The distinctive riding jackets are priced at Rs. 10,000 and the shirts and t-shirts cost Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 900 respectively.

Speaking about the association with MotoGP, Gunjan Soni, Chief Marketing Officer and Head of International Brands Business, Myntra said, “By becoming the first Indian clothing brand to partner with MotoGP – the world’s premier motorcycling championship, we hope to abide by Roadster’s fiery attitude to evocate relentless oomph. The premium motorcycle industry in India is set to grow at a CAGR of 30% during 2014-2019. This is fueling a surge in biking enthusiasts on the look-out for high-quality riding accessories and apparel. We understand motorcycling is more than a sport but a thriving lifestyle for today’s youth and hope to address the growing demand for functional and stylish motorcycling fashion in India through this association.”

Pau Serracanta, Managing Director, Commercial Area, at Dorna Sports commented:MotoGP has a rich legacy in the motoring segment. The mushrooming number of motorcycling festivals and biker’s clubs in India is a testament to the growing interest of biking in India. However, we find the motorcycling apparel segment a largely under-served market in the country. By collaborating with India’s favorite outdoor apparel brand-Roadster, we look forward to present the bikers of the country with a range of biking apparels which will take charge of both their safety and style quotient. After all, MotoGP stands for not just speed and thrill, but also for responsible riding.”
