Driver-Centric Interior of Porsche Cayenne

The new Generation Porsche Cayenne boasts premium and sporty interiors. The layout of the interiors is more centric towards the drivers for enhancing the ergonomics which resembles the Taycan. The new generation Cayenne boasts the sporty 3-spoke 911 steering wheel. Behind the wheel is the twin-screen panel comprising the digital instrument cluster and an infotainment system.

The curved digital cluster measures 12.6 inches in size but the infotainment system falls behind at 12.3 inches.  The HVAC vents are located beneath the screen panel and physical knobs are provided to control the system. However, the Porsche also offers a 10.9-inch touchscreen for the front passenger. The instrument cluster and infotainment system boast a sporty UI layout for the best driving experience by providing vehicle data.

Powertrain Options

The new generation Porsche Cayenne is available with a multitude of powertrain options. The base variant gets the 3.0L twin-turbo V6 petrol engine churning out 353ps and 500nm of output. This engine is revised for more performance than its previous version by 13ps and 50nm.

The Cayenne S is now powered by a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 petrol engine replacing the 2.9L V6 twin-turbo in the previous version. This engine churns out 474ps of power and 600nm of torque which is a significant bump of 34ps and 50nm. Porsche also offers the optional Sport Chrono package shaving the 0-100 timings to 4.4 seconds.

The 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine is also powering the Turbo GT variants and Coupe version. While the performance in the coupe version is like Cayenne S, the GT Turbo gets a slight bump of power to 650ps. Resulting in 0-100 in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 305km/h. The pure ICE variants of the Porsche Cayenne are mated to an 8-Speed Automatic Transmission.

Porsche Cayenne is also available with a Hybrid powertrain. The powerplant comprises a 3.0L V6 twin-turbo petrol engine coupled to an electric motor. The motor alone pumps 176ps of power from its 20.6 kWh battery pack. The combined output is 470ps of power and a range of 27kms in EV mode.

Balanced Ride and Performance

Porsche has extensively tweaked the suspension and platform of the new generation Cayenne. The SUV gets the steel spring suspension with new dampers and 2-valve technology. The new adaptive air suspension setup is tweaked for tremendous performance in all driving circumstances. Porsche claims that they have improved the ride quality, handling, and pitch and roll support. This results in the new Cayenne being tuned for off-road and on-road capabilities. Furthermore, the suspension behavior is different in various driving modes such as Normal, Sport, and Sport Plus.
