Ola Electric Car Interiors Teased

Bengaluru-based EV maker Ola electric, which currently sells its S1 range of electric two-wheelers in India, dropped in an exciting new teaser of its first electric car, the launch of which is expected to take place in December 2024. The company dropped in a new teaser showcasing the car along with its interior in a dark shadowy background and dim lights at the end of the launch event of its new entry-level e-scooter. It is the first time that the interior of the Ola electric car has been teased by the company.

The video shows us glimpses of the dash and steering wheel, although briefly, we can make out that the steering wheel of the car appears to be of a rounded rectangular shape rather than a circle with its two-spokes housing a backlit panel with touch-controls fitted on either side of the Ola logo on the center. Looking further back, we see a digital instrument cluster displaying the speedometer readout with an electrifying blue ambient light strip running across the length of the dashboard.

In the next shot, as the camera pans out revealing more of the car’s dashboard, we notice the massive Tesla-like touchscreen infotainment system at the centre with no visible buttons signaling that the majority of the vehicle’s controls would have access through the touchscreen unit. What also catches our attention are the air-con vents, or rather their absence. This could mean that they would be hidden behind a layer of the dashboard and the airflow will take place through a slit in the panels.

The exterior shows us a different design than what Ola had shown in its last teaser. Here, we see the front-left angle of the EV with a horizontal connected LED light bar fitted across the face with the illuminated OLA logo sitting on its nose. Slim headlights are seen just above the LED bar’s either end. Instead of mirrors, the manufacturer is said to make use of cameras for the wing mirrors in order to keep the drag coefficient as low as possible. The model could also come with a full glass roof making it evident that Ola plans to position this car as a premium EV and it will fit under a bigger price bracket.

Details regarding the powertrain or battery pack have not been revealed by Ola, although the company claims that the model will have a range of more than 500kms & will be the quickest electric four-wheeler in the country with a 0-100kmph time of fewer than four seconds. The company has also said that this would be the first model to be launched with 5 more being planned.
