Official: Honda City facelift arriving 14 Dec 2011

It’s been some time since Honda introduced City’s mid life facelift in Thailand. Honda fans in India have been eagerly awaiting the face lifted version, and some of them have postponed their bookings too. Seems like Honda have decided on a date to introduce the new version to India. The 2012 Facelift version of the City will be launched here on the 14th of December 2011.

2012 Honda City Facelift

The car will be launched in Delhi in the presence of Seki Inaba,Director, Marketing- Honda Siel Cars India Ltd.

One look at the facelift model introduced in the Thai market, and we get a fair idea of what the Indian facelift will look like. It’ll mostly follow the changes adopted by its Thai counterpart with chrome finish grille replacing the current grey finish unit. Headlamps remain largely unaltered, with the tail-lamps incorporating a slightly changed design. The front bumper will witness some alterations. There will be new alloy wheels on offer and some other minor changes visible only upon close observation will be made too.

On the inside, the orange backlit instrument cluster will be replaced with a white-blue backlit unit, although the design will remain the same. The instrument cluster may also include an ECO meter, like the Honda Brio. Also shown in the video are flappy pedals behind the steering wheel to shift gears manually on the automatic variant.

There may be a sunroof on offer in the top of the line variant, and a CD player will finally make its much needed appearance on this C-segmenter. We don’t expect a hike in the price of at least the base and middle variants. The top of the line City with some exclusive features may be offered at a slightly higher price.

Motoroids will be present at the launch ceremony for the new car. Rely on us for all the details on the changes made / features added on the new version. Here’s a video
