Italian prices for the new Suzuki S-Cross have been revealed, and the range starts at € 18,990 (INR 14.08 lakhs) for the 2WD EASY variant powered by the new 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine. The very same 3-cylinder engine, packing a 112 bhp punch and 175 Nm of twist, will soon be available in India under the Baleno’s hood, as was previewed by the Baleno RS concept at the 2016 Auto Expo. Back to the new S-Cross, it is available in three variants – EASY, COOL and TOP.
Standard equipment on the EASY variant includes manual air conditioning, multimedia system with CD + MP3 and USB radio, multi-function steering wheel and cruise control. Levelling up, the COOL variant adds 17-inch, 5-spoke, silver coloured alloy wheels, LED headlamps, fog lights, a multimedia system with a 7-inch touch screen display, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated seats and privacy glass. The range tops out with the TOP variant, that offers Radar Brake Support, Adaptive Cruise Control, 7-inch touch screen display with navigation, front and rear parking sensors, 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, along with roof rails finished in satin.

Apart from the aforementioned, new 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine, the new S-Cross also employs the 1.4-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine, that is good for 140 hp and 220 Nm of peak torque. Also offered alongside is the existing DDiS 320 diesel engine displacing 1.6 litres and rated at 120 hp, while peak torque stands at 320 Nm. While FWD will come as standard, the 1.4- and 1.6-litre engines can also be had with Suzuki AllGrip AWD system. There’s no word on the transmission options yet, but we reckon the new S-Cross will continue with the existing 5- and 6-speed manual transmissions. Apart from the existing colours, the new S-Cross also adds a new ‘Horizon Orange’ shade.
