Delivering exciting performance in a retro styled cruiser package, served with a slice of nostalgia, the Jawa and Jawa 42 are being handed to customers right now. While the production of these motorcycles is at full capacity right now, it will take quite some time for Jawa to fulfil the high number of orders they have received from all over the country. With less than a month since the first Jawa went on the road, there is indeed, quite some time before we see these lovely otorcycles reaching workshops and design centres where they will be modified to suit their owners’ personal preferences. Till then, have a look at this digital rendering of the Jawa 42, done by SRK Designs.

The transformation of this Jawa 42 begins from the front end, where we see the stock tyre getting replaced with a knobby, off-road ready tyre. The fender at the front too, has been raised to give it a scrambler like appearance. The headlight upfront gets a guard, preventing stones and other debris from cracking your illumination. Moving further ahead, we see the installation of a bash plate, which again protects the engine of the bike from flying debris on off-road trails. The tank gets rubber pads, preventing the rider from moving front or back while riding. The cigar-shaped tail-pipes are replaced by shorter pipes and also come with a protective cover. The rear tyre too is changed and gets a knobby pattern for more grip off the road.

Powering the Jawa 42 is a liquid-cooled, DOHC, single cylinder, 293 cc engine. This motor has been tuned to produce a maximum power figure of 27 hp and a maximum twist of 28 Nm. The fins on the engine are redundant due to the fact that the motor is liquid cooled but the engineers added them to pay homage to the older air-cooled engines of the Jawa brand. Despite being a modern 4-stroke motor, great effort has been put to mimic the sound of a 2-stroke motor. Priced at INR 1.55 Lakh, ex-showroom for the single disc variant, customers can also opt for a dual disc variant for INR 1.63 Lakh.
