Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL), the country’s largest passenger car exporter and second largest car manufacturer, today launched the Santro Xing Celebration Edition to celebrate 15 years of its existence. It may be noted that the Santro, which is the first model from Hyundai to have come to us, can safely be credited with playing a huge role in writing the success story of the Indian subsidiary of Hyundai. Santro was launched in year 1998 and was once among the largest selling cars in India.
The Santro has seen several variants and updates throughout its career and has surely seen brighter days. The advent of more modern cars from various car manufacturers have ensued that the Santro has only an average sales performance to boast of. Hyundai Motor India Limited, however, hasn’t yet given up on the Santro and has launched the Celebration Edition in a bid to revive the sales performance of its original tall boy.
The new Hyundai Santro Xing Celebration edition has been introduced with features like Rear parking sensors with LED display, Blaupunkt audio system and manual rear curtain. Styling updates include body graphics and rear chrome garnish.
Available in Petrol, LPG and CNG, the ‘Celebration Edition’ Santro is offered to customers in three colours namely- coral white, sleek silver and mushroom. The car has been launched at a price of INR 3,81,268 (ex showroom, Delhi).
