Hyundai India has already commenced the testing of the ix25 compact SUV on the Indian soil last month and now the upcoming compact SUV has been spied in Mangalore. Currently, the Indian compact SUV segment is dominated by the Ford Ecosport and Renault Duster (which will be getting an AWD variant soon). Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car maker, will be launching the S-Cross crossover soon.

Hyundai introduced the ix25 at the Beijing Auto Show in April this year. The Hyundai ix25 compact SUV measures 4.27 metres in length. Since it doesn’t fit in the sub 4-metre bracket, it won’t qualify for the excise duty benefits which the Ford Ecosport and the upcoming Fiat compact SUV would enjoy. The car is likely to share the engines with the Verna sedan in India. Hyundai will likely launch the 4WD model in India for the off-road enthusiasts.

The exterior design of the new Hyundai ix25 features the new Hyundai Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language, which can be seen on the Hyundai Genesis. The ix25 compact SUV has been “strategically developed for China” and measures 4,270 millimeters in length, 1,780 mm in width and 1,630 mm in height. The front of the SUV features a hexagonal grille, LED-lined headlamps, large fog light enclosures and a silver faux skid plate.

  1. Where is AWD/4WD model… if Hyundai does not launch AWD version for Creta with all the featuers such as Panaromic Sunroof, then it will lose the race from begining itself, Already Renual duster and XUV500 has it and Nissan Terrano, Ecosport and S cross will be launched with AWD feature in next 1-2 months… so it is in interest of Hyundai to launch Creta with AWD and other features right now itself… or it will lose the business
