Until now, the Bugatti Veyron enjoyed the tag of being the fastest production car to be ever built. But, this week, the Hennessey Venom GT broke the speed record of the Veyron and hit a top whack of 270.49 mph (435.31 kmph ) on the 3.2 mile space shuttle runway at NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre.
The Hennessey Venom GT produces a whopping 1244 bhp of max power and completed the 0-300 kmph run in just 13.63 seconds.
Here is the video footage:
The car took a total distance of 2.4 miles to hit the speed of 270 mph and took only 10 seconds to go from 260 mph to 270 mph.
In the year 2010, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport clocked 434.30 kmph on the Ehra-Lessien test track.
The Hennessey Venom GT will enjoy a limited production run of 29 units, of which 11 have been already delivered.
