American two-wheeler manufacturer, Harley Davidson started its operations in India in 2010. The company, with its slew of products, has won many hearts and awards. The latest award received by Harley-Davidson India was the Indo-American Trade Excellence award for Operational Excellence in Manufacturing at a felicitation ceremony organized by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC).
Since 2010, Harley-Davidson has been assembling most of its lineup for India at Bawal and now also builds the Street platform of motorcycles here. The Street 750 and 500 motorcycles are manufactured both at Harley-Davidson’s US and India plants. India is the second country where Harley-Davidson has CKD assembly operations outside the US and the first country where it has manufacturing operations outside the US.
On the occasion of winning the award, Baljeet Mokha, Director – Plant Operations Harley-Davidson India said, “We are honored to be recognized by IACC for Harley-Davidson India’s operational excellence in manufacturing. This year witnessed the tenth edition of the IACC which is committed to facilitating trade, business relations and strong business ties between India and US. The award celebrates trade excellence and recognizes the best Indian companies in the US vice-versa. It recognizes organizations and individuals who have contributed to the promotion of Indo-US trade, financial excellence, corporate social responsibility, development of human capital and their impact on the respective markets, etc.
