The Honda CBR250RR concept was first unveiled to the world at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. The futuristic concept revealed certain details of what to expect from the Japanese two-wheeler maker’s stable in the near future. While Honda remained tight-lipped about the performance number, the cockpit on the concept motorcycle marked the redline at a tall 14,000 rpm.

But one of the most charismatic element on the concept was the futuristic headlight design which seemed as if the Honda’s Light Weight Super Sport has landed from some other planet from a far-far away galaxy, designed by a far-superior species than mankind.

While we are yet to hear more details about the concept reaching the production form, the attentive folks at Motorcycle.com have reported what they call the headlight patents of the Honda CBR250RR. Close inspection of the design of the patent indicates a similar shape of the illumination unit that were seen on the concept.

According to the report, Honda filed the design patent in March this year with the European Union Intellectual Property Office, thus indicating that we may soon hear some official announcement from the Japanese two-wheeler maker.

The thin pilot lamps above the illumination unit gets beefier in the patent images while the main headlight gets a two-pod design with three LEDs on either side, similar to what we saw on the Light Weight Super Sport concept. According to the leaked patent designs, Takeshi Futamata and Hirofumi Yaegashi are the creators of the new designers.

The Honda CBR2500RR concept swiped most of us off our feet and we are curiously awaiting to see the production model of the Japanese two-wheeler maker’s next quarter-litre motorcycle. While we await more details you can share your views about the new patented design with us through the comments section below.
