The Eicher Pro 6000 Series has been designed and developed to handle chores on fronts of haulage, distribution, construction, industrial loads, courier and perishables. The Pro 6000 Series promise to offer great ergonomics, superior driver comfort, better efficiency, various driver-assistant aids and then some. This is further aided by the integration of the Volvo Group’s engine technology and cabin design of trucks. Though not very important, the Pro 6000 Series also boast of some pleasing exteriors.

Gill pointed out the Series’ focus on driver comfort and cabin technology.

The following are some of main features on the Eicher Pro 6000 Series:

  • Eicher Pro 6000 Series has the VEDX5 and VEDX8 engines which have been designed in collaboration with the Volvo Group. These engines also incorporate the Volvo Group’s new Engine Management System (EMS 3.0) which aids in better running efficiency of the VEDX5 engine. Also, the VEDX5 is a 5.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine that makes between 180-210 horsepower (depending on tune) and 825 Nm of torque. According to customer testimonials, the Pro 6000 Series offer a gain of 15-20% better fuel economy than rivals and that equates to around 4.5 km/l.
  • The cabin is ergonomically designed with features that are aimed to provide comfortable driving and higher driver efficiency. The sleeper cabin has been designed to provide a relaxed yet efficient workspace for the driver. These new-gen trucks also come fitted with vehicle telematics called Eicher Live, which keeps a track of the driver’s and truck’s every move, passing this on to the owner or fleet manager. Fuel Coaching is another driver assistance feature and just as the name implies, helps the driver to gain maximum fuel economy through optimal driving methods. There’s also cruise control, which isn’t ground-breaking but is certainly helpful for long distance truck drivers.
  • These trucks are also equipped with advanced on-board diagnostics systems, which assist in the proactive maintenance of the Pro 6000 Series. The system diagnoses and displays faults to the driver in the form of visual signals, messages and alarms. Together with the widespread Eicher service network, this ensures preventive and corrective maintenance, resulting in higher uptime of the truck.

The vital combination of Volvo Group’s world-class technology and frugal cost expertise and management of Eicher has created a range that will set new benchmarks amongst customers with high demands on profitability and driver effectiveness.” The company is hoping to launch the Eicher Pro 8000 Series in a couple of months.
