It is no secret that the DSK-Hyosung JV is contemplating coming up with new products to increase its market presence and gain a stronger footing on the fast developing Indian two wheelers market. The bike maker also intends to strengthen its sales network by opening up new outlets throughout the country. DSK-Hyosung recently inaugurated new dealerships in South India.

Commenting about the expansion plans, Shivapada Ray, COO, DSK Motowheels said, “We are really excited by the overwhelming response we have got from the super biking community of Bangalore. The reason behind expansion plan in the state of Karnataka is largely driven by the growing popularity of super biking culture as well as the increasing demand for aspirational bikes. In the next one year we plan to sell more than 250 units and hence we intend to expand our dealer base in the state.”

Currently, DSK Motowheels has dealerships in Pune, Mumbai, Goa, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Indore, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Dimapur, Imphal, Aizawl, Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Raipur, Ludhiana & Nagpur. Through these dealers, the sells GT650R, GT650N, GT250R, Aquila Pro and ST7 bikes, in the price band of INR 3.6 lakhs to INR 6.7 lakhs.

Talking about forthcoming bike launches from the DSK-Hyosung JV, coming our way is the GV250 cruiser bike. The Hyosung GV250 is essentially the younger sister of the GV650 and is powered by a 249cc oil-cooled V-Twin that has a max power of 28PS. The motor comes mated to a 5 speed manual transmission.

The bike comes with decidedly cool styling and looks every bit a cruiser bike should. The bike comes with dallops of chrome, a wide split seats and stylish alloy wheels. The bike gets a single disc brake at front wheel and a drum at rear.

The bike could come to us with a sticker price of INR 2.8 lakhs.

  1. Well, the same model was launched in 2004 by kinetic motors. What are the updates other than fuel injection?

  2. In a VTWin, the two cylinder banks are located at a certain angle (generally 72 degree) to each other, thus providing a V-like shape. In a parallel twin engine, the cylinders are located in a parallel with each other.

True, irrespective of the difference, 2.8 lakhs would be a bit too much on the higher side. However, Hyosung believes that its brand name, along with the distinctively cruiser styling of the bike, would help the manufacturer.

  3. Yatharth,

can you explan me whats the difference between vtwin and a regular engine?

irrespective of any difference, dont you think 2.8L is too much with RETB 500 ~1.7, D390 at 1.8 and P375 less than D390?

hos is Hyosung planning to pull the audience?
