BYD, the prominent Chinese automaker, has introduced an updated version of its Seal sedan in its home market. The facelifted Seal brings several enhancements, including advanced charging capabilities, a new 800V platform, and a range of exterior and interior updates.

Enhanced Technology and Performance
The updated BYD Seal now features the advanced ‘e-Platform 3.0 Evo,’ marking a significant upgrade from the previous 400V system. This new architecture supports faster charging, with the battery now able to recharge from 10% to 80% in just 25 minutes, compared to the 37 minutes required by the earlier system. The international versions of the Seal are available with two battery pack options: a 61.44kWh and an 80.64kWh unit. These configurations offer a driving range of up to 700 km on a single charge.

In addition to the improved charging infrastructure, the facelifted Seal includes a LiDAR sensor mounted on the roof. This sensor enhances the vehicle’s automated parking and adaptive cruise control systems. The new model is also capable of reaching speeds up to 240 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. The 800V platform allows for a 10% to 80% charge in approximately 25 minutes, and the Seal’s CLTC range varies between 510 km and 650 km, depending on the battery option. For those seeking more power, the higher trim offers all-wheel drive and a 523 bhp output, while the standard model comes with a 228 bhp rear motor.
Interior and Exterior Updates

The interior of the facelifted Seal features several notable updates, including a new flat-bottom four-spoke steering wheel, a dual-tone tan and grey leatherette theme, and a minimalist black dashboard design. The central AC vents have been repositioned below the large infotainment screen, a change from their previous placement on either side of the screen.
