The new Bajaj RE-60 four-wheeler was showcased to the automobile enthusiasts at the Ceylon Motor Show 2015. The event was held recently at BMICH in Colombo, Sri Lanka where visitors has the opportunity to have a closer look at and be test-driven in the Bajaj RE-60. Designed to be a 4-wheeled mini taxi, the Bajaj RE60 weighs 400 kg and is built using a robust, monocoque metal-polymer hybrid structure.

The Bajaj RE 60 is powered by a 4 valve, water cooled, tri-spark 216cc engine that delivers a maximum speed of 70 kmph and fuel efficiency of 35 kmpl. One of the unique features of this vehicle is that it is easy to drive, compact, lightweight and has a low carbon emission at just 60 gm/km.

Rakesh Sharma, President – International Business for Bajaj Auto Ltd. says that the RE 60 is a next generation 4-wheeler that innovatively combines modern technology with purposeful vehicle design. The company claims to have received positive feedback from the audience. The Bajaj RE-60 can be a good alternative to the 3-wheeler autorickshaws that ply the roads of the country.
