Colors and Pricing

The Tuareg 660 will be available in three captivating color options: Atreides Black, Canyon Sand, and the top-spec Evocative Dakar Podium variant. Prices start from Rs 18.85 lakh for the base variants, making it a premium offering in the adventure biking segment.

Formidable Competition

Despite being a 660, the Tuareg 660 is set to rival heavyweight contenders like the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE and the Honda XL750 Transalp. Its performance, features, and design put it in a league of its own.

Specifications

The 2024 model is powered by the same 659cc parallel-twin engine. It dishes out 78.9bhp of maximum power and 70Nm of peak torque. The mill is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The 2024 Tuareg 660 gets 43mm upside-down front forks and a progressive linkage monoshock for the rear. Its braking prowess includes twin discs at the front and a single unit at the back. It rides on spoke wheels and gets block pattern tyres.

Reintroducing the RS 660 and Tuono 660

RS660 and Tuono 660 Specification

The RS 660 and the tuono 660 get a Euro 5-compliant 659cc, parallel-twin engine putting out 100PS at 10,500rpm and 67Nm at 8,500rpm. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed transmission and gets a bi-directional quickshifter as standard.

In terms of features both the RS 600 and the tuono 660 feature five riding modes (Commute, Individual, Dynamic, Challenge, and Time Attack), cornering ABS, traction, wheelie and cruise control. Of the 5 riding modes, Challenge and Time Attack are meant for the track which can be customised to suit the rider.

And all of this is complemented by impressive hardware. Both the bikes use a twin spar aluminium frame sprung on a 41-mm Kayaba fork and a monoshock, both with preload and rebound adjustability. Meanwhile, the brakes comprise twin 320mm discs up front with radially mounted Brembo calipers.

Back by Popular Demand

The RS 660 and Tuono 660, previously available in India, are making a comeback. With refreshed offerings and potentially revised pricing, they aim to capture the hearts of biking enthusiasts who crave that Italian performance and sharp design.

Pricing Reconsideration

In their earlier, both models struggled to find takers due to their premium pricing with the RS 660 was at a staggering Rs 13.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune). However, with the reintroduction alongside the Tuareg 660, Aprilia might rethink its pricing strategy to appeal to a broader audience.

Our Take

The arrival of the RS 660, Tuono 660, and Tuareg 660 marks a significant milestone for Aprilia in the Indian market. These bikes aren’t just machines; they represent a passion for biking and a commitment to delivering unparalleled riding experiences
