What you see here are a couple of spy pics of the upcoming Land Rover’s 2014 Range Rover Sport. Range Rover Sport, which is more road focused than the Range Rover luxury SUV, will borrow a lot of design cues from the 2013 Range Rover.

Very much like the Range Rover, the Range Rover Sport will be underpinned by the new aluminium space-frame chassis that helps keeping the weight under check and thereby increases both the performance and fuel efficiency of the car. It is being expected that the new Range Rover Sport will be around 400kgs lighter than the outgoing car.

The Range Rover Sport will have a front end which would be very similar to the 2013 Range Rover. At the rear, the Sport will have a shorter overhang to further help enhancing the road manners.

Powering the 2014 Range Rover Sport will be a range of engines staring that include a 255bhp, 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel, a 355bhp twin-turbo V8 turbodiesel and a 500bhp+supercharged petrol V8 that should be juicy enough to rival the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S.

There also might come a diesel-electric hybrid V6 which would have a CO2 emission of less than 170 g/km of CO2.

The materials and features on the inside will be pretty similar to that on the bigger Range Rover, albeit, with a slightly different centre console.

It is being expected that Land Rocer will unveil the all new 2014 Range Rover Sport at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year.
