The Indian subsidiary of Yamaha might still be some time away from coming out with a 250cc offering for the fast growing Indian bike market. However, the bike maker has always made it a point to keep its existing products fresh by updating them on a regular basis.
The Yamaha FZ series of bikes have been clocking decent numbers on the sales chart and have brought a lot of customers to Yamaha India. Yamaha India has once again updated the FZ-S 150cc bike to infuse some excitement into the fast ageing brand. The latest update includes introduction of a set of new colour options for the 2013 Yamaha FZ-S.
Yamaha India gave the FZ-S a kick start lever, a new rear fender, a revised seat and new grab rails last year. However, the engine of the bike has always been unchanged and the need of the hour is a better performing motor. What with the new 150cc bikes upping the ante in the popular segment of Indian bike market?
Powering the Yamaha’s 150cc contender is a 153cc, four stroke, single cylinder motor that has a max power figure of 13.6 Bhp and a peak torque rating of 13.2 Nm. The motor comes mated to a 5 speed gearbox that offers smooth playing between the gears and bestows the bike with a punchy performance in low rev range. The Yamaha FZ-S comes with a front disc-rear drum brake setup and has a rear monoshock suspension along with widest tyres in its segment.
Talking about the four new colours, the FZ-S can now be bought in: Fearless Black, Glory Gold, Raging Red and Tempest Blue. Yamaha has always won a lot of accolades for having top notch paint quality and finish.
