DC Avanti UK

Somebody Bought (And Registered) A DC Avanti In The UK

India’s first home made sports car is going places. YouTube channel ScootSuperCars spotted this red DC Avanti rubbing shoulders with the likes of the Porsche Carrera GT and the Ferrari Enzo in Bedford, UK.

The DC Avanti, running on UK plates, was among a group of elite super-cars leaving a car meet. In that part of the world, a locally registered Avanti is not something that you see everyday. That means that somebody has actually imported an Avanti into the UK; must be quite a DC fanboy.

But hang on, the DC Avanti has already been spotted in London: Video : DC Avanti spotted prowling around London

Even the registration says ‘Avanti’.

The Avanti retails in India with prices starting from INR 35.93 lakh (ex-showroom), which translates to 43,356 Pounds before taxes. Manufactured at DC’s plant in Talegaon, near Pune, the Avanti features a carbon-fibre body shell and a lightweight space frame chassis.

Power comes from a mid-mounted, Renault sourced, 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, good for 248 bhp and 340 Nm of torque, that drives the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. DC claims that the car can do a 0-100 kph sprint in 6 seconds and attain an electronically limited top speed of 180 kph.
