Radical design
The premium SUV segment hasn’t seen that many new players in the recent time other than some facelifts. Cars like the Volkswagen Tiguan are known to have an understated design. Similarly, the Jeep Compass has been around for quite a while and its design is pretty familiar. The new Tucson on the other hand has a striking and futuristic design. Tucson is designed to appeal to those who embrace the integration of technologies with their lifestyle.
Tucson’s integration of technology and design is most evident in its innovative half-mirror type daytime running lamps (DRLs) that are assimilated seamlessly within the parametric grille, only revealed when illuminated. The kinetic design theme carries over to the rear where the full-width taillamp incorporates half-hidden triangular shapes that are only visible when lit, echoing the DRL on the front. In order to achieve the purity of this design theme, the Hyundai logo moved up and is integrated into the glass while the wiper also moves up and hides under the rear spoiler.
Feature packed interior
The Hyundai Tucson comes packed with almost every feature that you’ll ever need. The 10.25-inch touchscreen is a familiar unit and it gets navigation, Android Auto and Apple Carplay, Hyundai Bluelink connected car technology and a whole lot more. The dual-zone climate control features multi-air mode which is a first in the segment. The electrically adjustable leather seats are heated, cooled and also offered with memory function for the driver.
The 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster comes with selectable themes and it acts as a display for the parking sensors and navigation. Other features include 64-color ambient lighting, electric parking brake, 8 speaker Bose sound system, hands free tailgate operation, rain sensing wipers and remote engine start with key. It also comes with a passenger walk-in device wherein the rear passenger can move the front passenger seat via a button for increasing the legroom.
First in segment Level 2 ADAS
The Hyundai Tucson is the first Hyundai in India to feature Level 2 ADAS capability. It offers as many as 19 ADAS features including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) with pedestrian detection, Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Blind-Spot View Monitor, Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW), Surround View Monitor, Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (RPCA), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) with Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) Advanced Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop and Go and Safe Exit Warning (SEW). Other safety features include 6 airbags, ESC, Hill Descent control and ISOFIX child mounts.

Powerful Diesel Motor
The Hyundai Tucson offers the most powerful diesel motor in the segment which is comparable to SUVs a segment above too. The 2-liter unit produces 185 hp and 416 nm of torque. It is mated to a 8-speed automatic gearbox. The Tucson is also offered with HTRAC All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system along with Multi Terrain Modes (Snow/Mud/Sand). It also comes with a 2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 156 hp and 192 nm of torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed automatic.
