The legendary British car brand Bentley has officially released their latest member to the Continental lineup.The more powerful “S” version of the Continental GT V8 will be available as both a coupe and convertible and belts out an additional 21 bhp and 20 Nm from the V8 twin-turbo 4.0-litre engine. The total power now stands at 521 bhp at 6,000 rpm and torque is rated at 680 Nm at 1,700 rpm.
This addition in power enables the Bentley Continental GT V8 S Coupe to dismiss the 0-100 km/h mark in just 4.5 seconds, which is a whole 0.3 seconds quicker than the normal model. The top whack has also increased from 303 kmph to 309 kmph. Convertible model propels to 100 kmph in a scant 4.7 seconds and will keep on accelerating until the needle points to 308 kmph.
Also with the bump in performance, Bentley has added the S version a range of upgrades improving the looks and the handling of this
luxury sports saloon. The S now sits 10mm lower from the ground, gets updated dampers, 45% front / 33% rear stiffened spring rates, a tweaked stability control system and a stiffer rear sway bar. Both front and rear fascias have been slightly changed and the Continental GT V8 S rides on a new set of 20-inch alloy wheels.
Customers can change with the specification of the GT V8 S by selecting from a range of optional equipment. The sports exhaust features
redesigned silencers, re-tuned mountings and revised pipe architecture. The optional Mulliner Driving Specification features 21-inch 7-spoke Black Edition wheels, drilled alloy foot pedals, a ‘jewel’ fuel filler cap and a cabin trimmed in diamond-quilted, perforated leather with indented headlining. Other options include Mulliner dark – tint (smoked) front and rear lights and Beluga gloss door mirrors.
Deliveries of the new Continental V8 S are slated to start in early 2014.
