Renault India launched the 2016 Duster on March 3rd after it was showcased at the Auto Expo held in Greater Noida last month. Renault has now gone ahead and released the T.V. commercial for the new Duster. A number of new features in the 2016 model can be seen in the TVC such as new headlamps, new tail lamps, the trademark Easy R AMT transmission, etc.

Aesthetically, the 2016 Duster receives a new shade to start with, christened as Cayenne Orange. Other features on the exterior include refreshed front and rear looks, Kayak roof rails, 16 inch alloy wheels with a gun metal finish, waterfall LED tail lamps, hawk eye cluster headlamps, firefly fog lamps apart from electrically adjustable and foldable ORVM’s with turn indicators.

The air vents now feature red highlights apart from the 7 inch media nav touchscreen system on the top of the centre console. The system also receives Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity which is connected to the 4 speaker setup.

The conventional twin pod cluster is replaced by a tri-pod cluster with the speedometer pod now sitting in the center while the digital display with the warning lights move towards the left of the instrument cluster.

Powering the new Duster will be the conventional 1.5 litre dCi engine that delivers a power output of 110 PS of power and 245 Nm of torque. This engine sends power to the wheels with the help of a 6 speed manual gearbox while the Easy-R-AMT transmission comes as an optional feature.

Coming to the interiors, the 2016 Duster receives media navigation, auto up down windows with an anti pinch feature, automatic air-conditioning and a rear view camera with guidelines. The AWD variant receives crimson black theme with a double spacer fabric while the rest of the variants get a Cedarwood- black theme along with embossed fabric.  The safety features will include ESP with hill-start assist, ESP, Hill start assist, dual airbags, EBD with brake assist and ABS.

Rivals to the 2016 Renault Duster would be the Ford Ecosport, the Hyundai Creta and the Mahindra TUV 300. The new duster comes with a price tag starting at Rs. 8.47 lakhs (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).
