Soap manufacturers in India have some strange obsession with the Hindi film industry, car manufacturers are no different. The latest to join the list is the largest car manufacturer in India. The Maruti Ciaz sedan is about to be launched anytime soon and has been spotted being shot for its commercial at a scenic location, which appears to be either Pondicherry or a stretch on the NH 17 where it touches the Arabian Sea. However, we got to know it is somewhere in Gujarat. The commercial will feature young and popular movie star Ranveer Singh, who is seen in the pictures as a sharp, well dressed young achiever.
The commercial could’ve been more interesting if it featured Cameron Diaz promoting the new Maruti Ciaz. However, the car manufacturer would’ve spent a lot of money it earned selling the Kizashi, remunerating the actress. So they settled for the young man, who is quite popular with the ladies and also featured in a movie which pegged him against a bunch of them.
The car maker will be launching the Ciaz with a petrol and a diesel engine. A 1.4 liter K-Series petrol engine from the Ertiga, while the Diesel engine will be the popular 1.3 liter Multijet sourced from Fiat. Both the motors will come mated to a manual transmission, and an automatic transmission will also be offered on the petrol model. Reports suggest that Maruti Suzuki will not offer the Ciaz with an AMT in an attempt to position it as a premium product. Maruti Suzuki will be launching the Ciaz in three trims- VXi/VDi, VXi+/VDi+ and ZXi/ZDi.
The Maruti Ciaz will not only offer tons of interior space, but also more features and equipment. The Ciaz is likely to be equipped with projector headlamps, rear aircon vents, rear defogger, central locking and electrically-adjustable wing mirrors as standard. Top trims will get bits like alloy wheels, climate control, a touchscreen audio system, steering mounted controls, keyless entry, ABS and airbags.
