Tata to unveil Jaguar XJ Sentinel at the 2010 Moscow Motor Show

We are eagerly waiting for the 2010 Moscow Motor Show to get underway this month-end for the Skoda Octavia replacement is expected to be shown at this event. However, another than has caught our attention with respect to this year’s Moscow Motor Show is the Jaguar XJ Sentinel.

If you are a high profile gentle man who makes more enemies than friends, or are one of those politicians who is fed up being driven in a BMW, or are one of the members of the Secret Society of ‘Ferrari 458 Italia’ Wreckers and are about the face to fury of the petrolheads around, then you definitely need one of these Jaguar XJ Sentinel. As yo might have already guessed, the ‘Sentinel’ is the bullet-proof version of the top-of-the-line Jaguar, the XJ. In fact, the car has enough armor plating to earn itself ‘B7’ levels of ballistics protection which means it can handle moderately-sized explosions and gunfire.

The car is based on the long-wheelbase model of the XJ and uses the same 5.0-litre naturally aspirated engine that does duty under the normal XJ. However the added weight of the armor has reduced the 0-100 km/h sprint to 10 seconds, so running away won’t be all that easy when your enemies open fire! Expect Tata to bring this car to India by mid-2011 for their high profile clients.
