Skoda Yeti Urban: A High On Style Variant For UK

| March 29, 2012 | 6 Comments

Skoda Yeti UrbanSkoda has launched this more stylish, limited edition, Urban version of the Yeti in the UK. Yeti Urban offers up to 1.8 lakh worth of additional equipment over the current top of the line version at no extra costs. It’s a way to celebrate the huge success of the Yeti in UK and other European countries by Skoda. Only 750 units of Urban variant would be built.

The Yeti Urban will be the first model to be sold in the UK with DAB digital radio as standard. Special features include Sat-Nav Bluetooth connectivity and a multi-function steering wheel for phone and audio controls.

Design features such as sexy looking 17-inch black-and-chrome ‘Matterhorn’ alloys, wheel arch extensions, chrome side strips, silver door mirror caps, silver roof rails and stylish eye-catching roof stripes take the visual appeal of the Yeti up several notches. Inside, customers have the choice of red or black sports seats and sunset glass in the rear.

The Yeti Urban is available in two-wheel-drive with manual transmission only, and comes with a choice of two engines. The petrol option is 1.2-litre TSI 105PS, while diesel fans have the 2.0-litre TDI with 110PS. In India, we get the more powerful 140PS version of the engine for the Yeti.

The car’s exterior can be had in Black Magic pearl effect, Candy White, Brilliant Silver metallic and Steel Grey metallic, interestingly, at no extra cost for metallic paint.

What do you think of the new variant? We think that the Urban treatment does add some glitz to the oddball shape of the Yeti. Would such an experiment, with more features, more style at no extra price work for the model in India? Do let us know your views.

  1. D A M N, that just took the looks through the roof fot Yeti, which according to me was always somethin which looked interestin, but no fare India too deserves it.. They seems to have liked Clarkson's overboastin review about it and hence made it even better there..

  2. But I wish it had a sun roof if not a moon view retracting window to the sky.
