Mahindra has been doing reasonably well with their scooters, and the new Centuro has been another shot in the fledgling two-wheeler company’s arm. Now, a new Mahindra 110cc scooter has been spied testing in Pune. Properly covered with cladding (even the grab rails), not many details about the scooter could be made out. What we can see, however is a telescopic front suspension, and a tail-lamp set with integrated brake light and blinkers. The unit resembles the Rodeo tail lamp unit in shape.
The wheels on the scooter are steel rims, and not alloys – which means that there would be at least one low price, lesser features variant available for the model. With the scooter market outperforming the two-wheeler industry, it would make sense for Mahindra to introduce a sub-Duro product which offers great value to the customer.
Codenamed G101, the new scooter has reportedly been caught with a lady rider aboard as well, suggesting that it might well be a female specific offering. The scooter might feature a low seat height, lighter weight and some other fairer-sex friendly features. Mahindra may also want to put into practice its learnings from the reasonably successful Centuro into the scooter segment. The goodies offered on the bike like a remote key and engine immobilizer may be offered on the new scooter as well to raise the value quotient.
The new scooter, will most likely make its debut at the Auto Expo 2014 in February, along with the production specs Mojo 300 with the larger tank we showed you in spy shots a while back.
