The new BMW X5 xDrive35i has been launched in India today. With this launch, the X5 is now available in a petrol variant in India for the first time, barring the nutty X5 M of course.
The new BMW X5 xDrive35i will be locally produced at the BMW Plant Chennai, and has been priced at INR 73,50,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
In India, the X5 xDrive35i will be only offered with the ‘Design Pure Experience’ package.
The three-litre, turbocharged, inline six cylinder petrol engine of the new BMW X5 xDrive35i produces an output of 225 kW / 306 hp and a maximum torque of 400 Nm at 1,200 – 5,000 rpm.
The engine comes mated to an eight-speed Sport Steptronic automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels using BMW xDrive, an intelligent all-wheel-drive system. The car accelerates from 0 -100 km / hr in just 6.5 seconds.
The BMW X5 xDrive35i Design Pure Experience is available in Alpine White (non-metallic) and in the following metallic paint-works: Black Sapphire, Imperial Blue and Sparkling Brown.
The range of upholstery combinations include Leather ‘Dakota’ Canberra Beige | Canberra Beige, Leather ‘Dakota’ Ivory White | Black, Leather ‘Dakota’ Mocha | Black and Leather ‘Dakota’ Terra | Black.

The X5 xDrive35i gets BMW EfficientDynamics with features such as Auto Start-Stop, ECO PRO mode, Brake-Energy Regeneration, Intelligent Lightweight Construction, Electronic Power Steering, 50:50 Weight Distribution, and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC).
Using the Driving Experience Control switch, the driver is able to choose between different driving modes to suit the driving conditions.
The BMW ConnectedDrive package in the X5 xDrive35i includes BMW Navigation system Professional with 3D maps (integrated Global Positioning System-GPS), iDrive Touch with handwriting recognition (including a 26 cm high-definition colour display) , Surround Sound system from Harman Kardon, rear-view camera and touch screen.
