Maruti Suzuki is all geared up to enter the commercial vehicle game with their all new Super Carry Turbo LCV. Codenamed as Y9T, the light commercial vehicle seems to be ready for launch and is expected to be out for buying soon. It was recently spotted in a dealership’s stockyard. Earlier, the test mules of the Y9T were spotted on various occasions doing rounds wrapped in camouflage. The now spotted Super Carry appears with a different front fascia, similar to ones in competition. The Maruti Suzuki Carry carries the ‘Carry’ name forward from its forerunner that moved people and things in Japan in the 1980s. The original Carry’s seventh generation debuted in India in the Maruti Omni avatar 1984.

The Maruti Suzuki Carry Turbo is expected to draw power from a DDiS 125 diesel engine which performs duties on the Celerio. The engine will drive the Carry Turbo with a power of around 47 Bhp produced at 3,500rpm and 125 Nm of torque at 2,000rpm. The power will propel the wheels with the help of a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Also, a non-Turbo version of the LCV will be available which will be powered by the same power-plant that propels the Maruti Suzuki Eeco. This version will be more powerful and heavy duty than the Turbo version. Its 1.2 litre engine will be power by CNG and will be strapped with a 4-speed transmission. The Maruti Suzuki Super Carry will likely be rolled out with a one and 1.5-ton payload configuration. On production the Maruti Suzuki Super Carry will go head on with the Tata Ace and the Mahindra Maxximo. As of now, the launch date and price of the LCV are not known, but is expected to be out soon.
