Latest Honda CBR250RR render keeps the heat going

Honda CBR250RR render

The 2016 Honda CBR250RR is an eagerly anticipated motorcycle, ever since the sinister looking concept (see gallery below) sent pulses racing at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. Post that, there have been a few speculative renders imagining Honda’s next generation lightweight super sports model. The latest render, courtesy Young Machine magazine, keeps the heat going. It builds on the concept, with the upcoming motorcycle’s aggressive bodywork being draped in red and white livery. The full fairing on the concept had voids below the LED DRL strips, which have duly filled up by the headlamps in the render, as this patent filing also corroborates.

While on the concept, the fuel tank, full fairing, the unified rear tyre hugger, as well as the chain guard get the carbon fibre treatment, its unlikely that the production version will benefit from the lightweight material. The power and performance related figures of the 2016 CBR250RR are still under wraps, but the digital cockpit on the concept showed a heady a 14000 rpm redline. The engine is expected to be a 250 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin unit with have ride-by-wire technology and riding modes. The 2016 Honda CBR250RR will initially be manufactured in Thailand, where its rivals will include the Yamaha R25, the Kawasaki Ninja 250, the KTM RC250, and BMW Motorrad’s G310R.
