Good morning and happy Mondays, everyone.
While the rest of us mere mortals spent our weekend catching up on sleep or the latest TV shows on our DVR, Skyfall stuntman and ace freestyle biker Robbie Maddison spent it doing something we can’t even begin to wrap our heads around.
With a little help from the Australian’s sponsors DC Shoes, Robbie went to the beautiful Tahiti Islands to shoot a small commercial that also showcases his frankly superhuman prowess. Now, this being Tahiti, you’d rightly expect a lot of surf and sand and bikini-clad models, but DC and Robbie’s motorcycling sponsor KTM did something better. Remember, he’s a biker after all.
So they rigged up his KTM dirt bike with floaty-thingies and a rear tyre that actually acts as some kind of propeller blades. We’re only guessing at this point.
The resulting video, titled “Pipe Dreams” is three and a half minutes of Robbie tackling the waves of French Polynesia and it is nothing like we have ever seen before. The direction and cinematography is also stellar, and shows off the beaches of Teahupoo and Papara at their most beautiful.
