This Steroid 540 Cafe-Racer Is A Royal Enfield Classic 500 Underneath

Regulars at Motoroids would recollect having read about Nautilus, a customized version of a 500cc Royal Enfield. The mod-job, done up by the guys at Bulleteer Customs, was a tribute to Captain Nemo’s submarine. The Nautilus was featured in Jules Verne’s novels Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and The Mysterious Island.

This time though, the Bengaluru based company has caught our attention with a customized Café Racer, also based on a 500cc Royal Enfield. Known as the Steroid 540, the model is powered by the same 500cc engine from the Classic 500 though this engine has received a few undisclosed modifications. These upgrades help the motorcycle to sprint from 0-100 kmph in less than 9 seconds while the top speed stands at 154 kmph.

A few other upgrades to the Steroid 540 include a RE Continental GT fuel tank (4 inch wider than standard), Bybre disc brakes at the rear, Metzeler tyres, KTM RC390 inspired front mud-guard, LED headlamp, customized seat and a custom exhaust setup.

The aforementioned features, according to Ricardo Pereira, Director of Bulleteer Customers, are what gave the Café racer a ‘Steroid shot’. The Steroid 540 is dedicated to one of Britain’s greatest racers, Barry Sheen. What do you think of this custom Cafe Racer? Let us know through the comments section below.
