Facing some stiff competition from the Maruti Ertiga and the Honda Mobilio, homegrown automaker Mahindra has launched a refreshed version of the Xylo MPV. The updated version gets a few mechanical changes, cosmetic updates and some additional features and equipment. The refreshed Xylo will now be available with two diesel engine options and five trims. The D2 and D4 variants are available with the 93.7bhp 2.5-litre CRDe engine either in BSIII or BSIV standard, however, the BSIII engine will be available in tier-3 cities or rural areas only. The H4, H8 and H9 trims are available with the 118bhp 2.2-litre mHAWK engine, which the Xylo shares with the Scorpio. Mahindra has also updated the suspension on the Xylo to improve stability, ride characteristics and reduce bodyroll.
On the outside, the refreshed Xylo gets a tweaked front and rear end with addition of some chrome, while alloy wheels and decals follow a new design and the MPV now gets roof rails. On the inside, upholstery is new and the cabin gets a new black-beige theme. The audio system is a Bluetooth-enabled double-DIN unit and also understands voice commands. Instrument cluster is new and the steering wheel now gets buttons for audio and cruise controls. Wing mirrors are electric and the Xylo also gets front dual airbags, ABS with EBD and a park assist system with digital display.
