Volvo as a brand has always built its name around safety, comfort and clean Scandinavian design. Now, the company is ready to bring its most advanced electric SUV to India. The Volvo EX90 will officially launch on August 19, 2026, becoming the brand’s new flagship EV for the Indian market.
First revealed globally in 2022, the EX90 is the electric alternative to the XC90 luxury SUV. It will be brought to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and will take on premium electric SUVs like the BMW iX, Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV and Kia EV9.

The EX90 follows Volvo’s familiar design language with a modern electric touch. The front gets a body coloured closed grille with the Volvo logo placed in the centre. One of the biggest attractions is the signature Thor’s Hammer LED lighting, where the daytime running lights open up to reveal the main headlamps.

Volvo also offers fast charging support of up to 350 kW DC, allowing the battery to charge from 10 to 80 percent in around 22 minutes. A three phase 16A AC charger takes around 11 hours for a full charge.
