Two-Wheeler Sales July 2017 : Consolidated Motorcycle And Scooter Sales Numbers

Two-wheeler manufacturers in India recently released their sales report for the month of July 2017. Here’s a consolidated sales report of two-wheeler manufacturers for the month of July 2017.

Suzuki Motorcycle India

Suzuki Motorcycle India has registered a 62% growth during July 2017, as compared to July 2016. Suzuki Motorcycle India registered a total sale of 40,038 units versus 24,703 units it had achieved in July 2016. The growth was fueled by a strong domestic performance, where the sales for Suzuki Motorcycle India grew by 78% over last year. Suzuki Motorcycle India has also recorded a year-on-year growth of 40.6% for the period of April-July in 2017, viz-a-viz 2016, clocking a total sale of 166,456 units including the big-bikes.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India closed July with record high monthly exports. Honda2Wheelers India total sales grew at 20% to 544,508 units in July 2017 as compared to 453,884 units in July 2016. Honda2Wheelers is the only manufacturer to gain 2% market share to 28.8% (dom+exp), making Honda the highest market share gainer in July 2017. In domestic market, Honda2Wheelers sold 429,551 units in July’16 to 511,939 units in July’17. Honda2Wheelers recorded its ever highest exports in a single month at 32,569 units and witnessed a growth of 34%.

TVS Motor Company

TVS Motor Company registered a sales growth of 9% increasing from 248,002 units in July 2016 to 271,171 units registered in the month of July 2017. Total two-wheeler registered growth of 9.7% with sales increasing from 240,042 units in July 2016 to 263,336 units in July 2017. Domestic two-wheeler sales grew by 6.2% increasing from 206,605 units in July 2016 to 219,396 units in July 2017. Two-wheeler exports grew by 31.4% increasing from 33,437 units in July 2016 to 43,940 units in July 2017.

Royal Enfield

Royal Enfield continues 2017 with a strong sales performance and posted sales of sales of 64,459 motorcycles in combined domestic wholesale and exports in the month of July, recording a growth of 21% over same period last year. The two-wheeler brand reported total sales of 64,459 units for the month of July 2017 versus 53,378 during corresponding month last year. The year-to-date sales numbers stood at 248,457 units versus 200,861 units during corresponding period last year, marking a growth of 24%.

Bajaj Auto

Bajaj Auto witnessed negative growth in the month of July 2017. The Company registered domestic sales of 164,915 units during July 2017 versus 174,324 units during corresponding month last year, a fall of 5%. Exports stood at 100,267 units during July 2017 versus 111,203 units during corresponding month last year, a fall of 10%. The overall sales fell by 7%, from 285,527 units in July 2016 to 265,182 units in July 2017.
