Since the first time the news broke out we reported to you Skoda planning to launch the Laura R S in India. Now Skoda India has made it official by also fixing a date for the launch which will be 31st of August 2011.
Skoda Laura R S is available in both diesel and petrol engine options in the international market but Skoda India in all probability will launch only the petrol TSI version of the car. With no changes in the engines the Laura R S will be more of a cosmetic and badging job with new sporty body kits and sporty interiors.
The price for the Laura R S will be anywhere between 1 to 2 lakh more than the non R S model. What we wonder how many interested buyers will buy a petrol Skoda R S over a diesel Skoda Laura. With petrol prices sky rocketing will this move from Skoda help them or should they consider a diesel RS too?
