RE Shotgun 650 Limited Edition Breaks Cover at Motoverse

Royal Enfield recently took the motoring world by surprise with the grand unveiling of their latest offering, the Shotgun 650. This new motorcycle made its debut at the highly anticipated Motoverse 2023 event, also known as Rider Mania, held in Vagator, Goa. Here’s a comprehensive overview of what’s been revealed about this unique bike so far.

Motoverse Edition Shotgun 650

The Shotgun 650 is a limited-edition model, serving as Royal Enfield’s most distinctive and exclusive offering in India. Dubbed the Motoverse Edition, this factory custom bike boasts hand-painted body panels with stunning gradient and neon details, a paint scheme exclusive to this variant which will not be available on the standard model.

Limited Edition Shotgun’s Price & Availability

With only 25 units planned for the initial phase, this bobber-styled motorcycle will be sold through a lucky draw exclusively to attendees of the Motoverse event at a price of Rs. 4.25 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for these limited bikes will be open until midnight on November 25, 2023, and deliveries can be expected by January 2024.

Classic Bobber Styling

However, Royal Enfield has confirmed that a production version of the Shotgun 650 will hit the market in 2024. This neo-retro bike draws inspiration from the SG650 concept and boasts a classic bobber style with a long, low-slung profile. Its production model features a funky paint scheme blending blue and black tones with edgy graphics.

Along with it are some distinct elements like a naked round headlamp, offset console, bar-end mirrors, hand-stitched black leather solo seat, and a bold, chopped rear fender. Feature-wise, it sports a full-LED lighting system and a semi-digital console equipped with a Tripper navigation module.

Shotgun 650: Hardware Details

In terms of hardware, the Shotgun 650 rides on ten-spoke wheel rims integrated with ABS. The front suspension comprises upside-down forks and an integrated aluminium top yoke, paired with low-rise extra-wide handlebars. Meanwhile, twin shocks adorn the rear, mounted to the chassis loop. Its custom-built twin peashooter exhausts and an all-black hardware package further enhance its visual appeal. While the deal also includes a new gloss black engine cover.

Shotgun 650: Engine & Gearbox

Interestingly, the Shotgun 650 shares several cycle parts with the Super Meteor 650, including similar-looking frames and suspension components. The engine seems similar to the Meteor’s 649cc, air/oil-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder engine, churns out 47BHP and 52Nm through a 6-speed gearbox. However, whether Royal Enfield has tweaked the engine tuning for the Shotgun remains to be confirmed.
