New 2014 Yamaha YZF R15 V3.0 to come with at least 4 new color options

Only a couple of days back, we reported about the mechanical changes that the upcoming 2014 Yamaha YZF R15 V3.0 would carry. Back then, the details that have leaked on the cyber space were supported by an image of the soon-t0-be-launched R15 facelift, which revealed that the bike could get a new colour scheme, that of Black and Grey. Now, our friend Kirthan D, from Mysore, claims to have got to know about some more new colour options with which the new bike would be offered. While the pics of these are yet to come to us, the previous spy pics you see here do reveal two of the four new colour options we’ve got to know of.

Four new colour options for the 2014 Yamaha YZF R15 V3.0 would be-

• Black and Golden
• Grey and Black (Different to current scheme)
• Red and White (Different to current scheme)
• Blue and White (Different to current scheme)

We’ve got to know that several Yamaha Motor India dealers across the country have already started receiving the first batch of the updated model and the new 2014 Yamaha YZF R15 V3.0 launch could happen sometime next month. From what we’ve been hearing, the new R15 V3.0 price in India would be same as the current model, which means that the ex-showroom price would be pegged around the INR 1.15 Lakhs figure.

Other than these really minor visual changes, the bike looks very similar to the V2.0 model that is currently on sale. Mechanical upgrades for the updated bike consist only of a re-mapped ECU, which has led to a small increase in the bike’s max power output (18 PS vs 17 PS earlier). Also, it has bestowed the bike with a different torque curve. While the peak torque figure, at 15 Nm, has remained unchanged, the bike gets a more punchier mid-range, thereby making the bike friendlier to urban usage.
