If it was Kanyakumari, where the male protagonist and his little dinghy found shore in the movie ‘Life of Pi’, what would Richard Parker, the Tiger do to cool himself off and his tan? He would probably find his way to Kashmir and maybe carry Pi on his back too. This could be an idea for the sequel, where Pi and Richard Parker set off from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, taming some of the toughest terrain they encounter on their way. Triumph Motorcycles India has achieved something similar. A rider astride the Triumph Tiger 800 XC has managed to leave pug marks that extend from the Southern Most tip of India, right till it’s neck. This long and enthralling journey was flagged off from Kanyakumari and saw the machine conquer some of the most grueling terrains with absolute ease. The journey spread over 3 months was divided into 5 legs. The rider rode from Kanyakumari to Ooty, Ooty to Pune, Pune to Dasada, Dasada to Delhi and finally from Delhi all the way up to Srinagar via Leh. This ride was a perfect opportunity to get away from the routine of everyday life and get to know new destinations via scenic and adventurous routes. The ride spanning over 10,000 kilometers was a first of a kind initiative by Triumph Motorcycles here in India.
The Triumph Adventure series bike comes with a cracking Triumph three-cylinder engine and a rugged chassis, it brings the correct amount of toughness, everyday practicality and outstanding touring credentials to the Tiger 800 XC. The engine is designed to give smooth, accessible torque and the strong steel frame and long travel suspension are built, not just to survive, but excite on road or trail. The Tiger 800XC is tall; looks rugged and is completely capable for someone with the thirst of long distance riding. The motorcycle was built for a purpose, and that clearly reflects in its style, from beak-like front mudguard, dual head lights, and a small wind screen making the bike ready to take on any kind of adventure. The Tiger 800 XC is a hard-core bike that you can cross continents on, whether or not there are roads going in that direction.
