Planning to buy a new hatchback during the festive season? You might want to wait a little more as 2014 Maruti Suzuki Swift is expected to hit the showrooms by the end of this year. Maruti Suzuki is all prepared to launch the newest edition of its hot selling premium hatchback, the Swift. The company is likely to launch this refreshed version in November.

But this will be a minor update to keep the car running against the competitors. Along with the current variants, Maruti is also likely to sell an automatic variants of both, petrol and diesel with the Swift 2014.

The front bumpers would now house day-time running lights along with a redesigned grille and revised headlights. Tail lights may also get a refreshed design.

In terms of engine, the Swift will continue to be powered by the tried and tested DDiS 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine making 74 bhp and the 1.2-litre petrol engine that would churn out 84 bhp.

We feel that Maruti Suzuki Swift 2014 may do better in terms of sales if the company introduces the model ahead of the festive season. The only logical reason we can see for Maruti to introduce Swift 2014 after the festive season is that the company plans to clear off its inventory before it introduces the new variant.

Would you buy the on-going Swift or would you wait for the refreshed model to come up in November? Share your opinions through comments below. Stay tuned into Motoroids for all the action from the world of auto.

That all depends on how many who would go up to the showroom to book this car, actually know that a refreshed car is on it way. Nothing about it is widely known. If they know then surely one would like to wait or might wanna take up the huge discount usually offered on outgoing cars.
